'Stree 2' collects ₹425cr; no signs of slowing down
Amar Kaushik's horror-comedy sequel, Stree 2, has been breaking box office records since its release on August 15, 2024. The film, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, is about to surpass the lifetime Hindi language collections of KGF Chapter 2. Despite a significant dip in earnings on Wednesday, the film's overall performance remains impressive.
'Stree 2' earns ₹424.05 crore at domestic box office
Stree 2 has earned an estimated ₹424.05 crore at the domestic box office, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. It collected ₹9.25cr on second Wednesday. KGF Chapter 2's record is of ₹435 crore. Despite a drop in collections, Stree 2 is expected to continue its strong run and potentially join the ₹500 crore club by Monday.
'Stree 2' set to break more records
In its third week, Stree 2 is expected to surpass the collections of Ranbir Kapoor's Animal (₹505 crore), SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (₹511 crore), Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan (₹524 crore), and Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 (₹525 crore). With no new releases in the coming week, the film is likely to achieve these milestones and position itself as the second-highest grosser of all time.
'Stree 2' aims for 'Jawan's lifetime record
Following these achievements, Stree 2 will set its sights on the lifetime record of Jawan, which stands at a staggering ₹584 crore. The only two Hindi films expected to challenge Stree 2's collections this year are the Kartik Aaryan-led horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Rohit Shetty's Singham Again, featuring Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, and Arjun Kapoor.
