Box office: 'Stree 2' earns ₹135.7cr in three days
Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's latest release, Stree 2, is on a winning streak at the box office. The film, which hit the theaters on Independence Day, has already raked in ₹135.7cr in just three days, according to early estimates from Sacnilk. Despite facing competition from Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham's Vedaa, Stree 2 has managed to emerge as a box office victor.
'Stree 2' witnesses significant jump in Saturday collections
According to Sacnilk, Stree 2 witnessed a significant increase in its collections on Saturday, earning an estimated ₹44cr. This is a substantial rise from the film's Friday collection of ₹31.4cr. The report also revealed that the movie had an overall Hindi occupancy of 61.96% on Saturday, with the highest occupancy recorded during night shows at approximately 81%.
Rao expresses gratitude as 'Stree 2' enters ₹100cr club
Recently, Rao took to Instagram to express his gratitude for the film's impressive box office performance. Sharing the news of Stree 2 entering the ₹100cr club, he wrote, "Blessings to God and to all of you. Heartfelt thanks." The film's success is expected to continue, with a potential increase in collections on Sunday and the upcoming Raksha Bandhan holiday on Monday.
'Stree 2' plot: A new demon terrorizes Chanderi
As suggested by the trailer, Stree 2 revolves around a new, ghastly demon terrorizing the town of Chanderi. This time, a headless monster is abducting women during the night, prompting the return of Stree. The film follows Vicky (Rao) and his friends—played by Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana—as they embark on a mission to save their village from this new threat. Amar Kaushik has helmed it.
