'Stree 2' is unstoppable, nears ₹500cr mark in India
The horror-comedy film Stree 2, featuring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, is on the verge of joining the ₹500cr club in India. Despite a slight dip in its third-week earnings, the film managed to rake in ₹5.5cr on Wednesday, bringing its total domestic net collection to an impressive ₹497.8cr. The movie has been outperforming other releases since its premiere on August 15.
'Stree 2' maintained steady momentum despite competition
Stree 2 has consistently dominated the box office, even in its third week. The film was released alongside two other movies—Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa—but has managed to maintain a strong presence on the screens. Despite a gradual decline in numbers, the film's earnings remain impressive for its third week. After a substantial third weekend total of around ₹36cr, the film began experiencing a slight decrease in business from Monday onward.
'Stree 2' surpassed ₹500cr globally; set for 4th week
Stree 2 has already achieved a significant milestone by surpassing ₹500cr in worldwide collections and gross earnings in India. As it enters its fourth week, industry experts anticipate that the film's momentum will remain steady, especially with no major releases scheduled for this Friday. The delay of Kangana Ranaut's Emergency has provided Stree 2 with an additional opportunity to boost its box office performance.
'Stree 2' could potentially outperform SRK's 'Jawan'
There are high expectations that Stree 2 may surpass the fourth-week collections of Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan. If the film achieves a lifetime business of ₹550cr net in India, it could secure its place as the "highest-grossing Hindi movie" ever. The movie also stars Aparshakti Khurana, Pankaj Tripathi, and Abhishek Banerjee, while Varun Dhawan and Akshay Kumar feature in cameos.
