Day-47: 'Stree 2' scores below ₹1cr for the first time
The Hindi horror-comedy film Stree 2, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, is getting close to the ₹600 crore mark at the box office. Even though it earned less than ₹1 crore for the first time on its 47th day, it's still the highest-grossing Hindi film ever. Right now, it's the sixth biggest Indian film ever, following Jawan, Kalki 2898 AD, RRR, KGF: Chapter 2, and Baahubali: The Conclusion.
'Stree 2' box office performance and future prospects
On its 47th day, Stree 2 collected ₹60 lakh, taking its total to ₹588.7cr. Even though the earnings have dipped, the film is still expected to cross the ₹600cr mark, thanks to the lack of major Hindi releases until October 11. However, even with a box office collection nearing ₹600cr, Stree 2 won't be able to climb higher in the Top 10 films of Indian cinema, as the fifth spot is held by Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan, which collected ₹640.25cr.
'Stree 2' cast and potential spin-off
Alongside Kapoor and Rao, Stree 2 also stars Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana, and Pankaj Tripathi. Plus, we've got special appearances from Varun Dhawan, Akshay Kumar, and Tamannaah Bhatia. And guess what? The makers are even thinking about a spin-off focused on Kapoor's character to dive deeper into Stree's backstory.
