'Stranger Things': Jamie Campbell needed therapy after villainous Vecna role

Jamie Campbell Bower, the 36-year-old actor who played Vecna in Stranger Things Season 4, recently opened up about how the role affected his mental health.
Speaking at a panel at MegaCon Orlando, he said he plans to stay away from villains for a bit.
"I was talking to my therapist the other day... he was like, 'We really need to make sure that you carve out time for you whenever you're working next.'"

Campbell Bower's mental health struggles due to 'Stranger Things' role
Campbell Bower stressed how serious his therapy sessions are, saying, "I'm not lying."
He also revealed how much the role affected him, adding, "Like, it f--ks me up. I'm dead serious."
However, despite all this, Campbell Bower is thankful to be a part of Stranger Things. "It's been amazing...to join the show from Season 4...But I definitely am ready to hang up the foam latex and wish him a slippery farewell," he added.

'Stranger Things' Season 5: The final showdown
The final season of Stranger Things, which is the upcoming fifth season, will see Hawkins take on Vecna. However, an official release date is still awaited.
Creators Matt and Ross Duffer (popularly known as Duffer Brothers) have likened this season to "shooting eight blockbuster movies," with Matt telling Deadline in January that it was their "most personal story" and "super intense and emotional to film."

Netflix teased 'Stranger Things' Season 5 with cryptic post
Back in January, Netflix teased the next season of Stranger Things with an Instagram post.
The post included a missing person's flyer for Jane Hopper (Eleven), last seen near Hawkins High School on June 13, 1986. This is a few months after Season 4's events which took place in March 1986.
As Netflix confirmed in November, Season 5 is set in the fall of 1987, a year after Eleven's (Millie Bobby Brown) disappearance.
