'Star' outshines Kavin's previous hit 'Dada' at the box office
The latest sensation in Tamil cinema, Star, directed by Elan, known for Pyaar Prema Kaadhal, has been making waves at the box office since its release on May 10. Despite initial mixed reviews, the film has seen impressive numbers, thanks to positive word-of-mouth from early screenings. The movie, featuring Kavin in the lead role, narrates an engaging tale of a young man's journey to stardom.
'Star' has set a new benchmark for Kavin
As per Sacnilk, a box office tracking website, Star raked in around ₹2 crore nett on its opening day in Tamil Nadu, setting a new career record for Kavin. When compared to his previous film Dada, Star is faring better. On the 11th day of release, while Dada earned ₹0.35 crore, Star managed to earn ₹0.4 crore. So far, Star has amassed ₹17.35 crore across India.
Kollywood celebrities heaped praise on 'Star' on social media
The success of Star has not gone unnoticed by Kollywood celebrities who have taken to social media platforms to laud the film. Director Sam Anton posted, "This is just brilliant .. @Kavinm0431 brother extraordinary work..all t looks r terrific @elann_t bro such an amazing work of art .. every struggling person will relate to it .. BARADHIYAR dialogue was masterclass." In a similar vein, director Gautham Vasudev Menon expressed his eagerness to watch the film.
