#StanLeeForever: Stan Lee will have cameo role in 'Avengers 4'
Stan Lee, the 95-year-old legendary comic artist, passed away at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, on November 12. Despite creating some of the most iconic Marvel characters, Lee was better known as Marvel's face among fans for multiple cameos from the first live-action 'X-Men' right till the recent 'Venom' movie. It has now been confirmed that he will have a cameo in 'Avengers 4' too.
Joe Russo confirms Lee's cameo role
Russo had confirmed, in an interview with BBC Radio Scotland in April 2018, that Lee had already filmed his cameo for 'Avengers 4'. He said that since Lee did not like flying, they tried to get him to shoot several cameo scenes together, whenever he arrived. Therefore, Lee filmed for his cameos in 'Ant-Man and the Wasp' and 'Avengers 4' at the same time.
The legendary appearances that became tradition
While fans mourned the death of Lee, there were questions about him appearing in the upcoming 'Avengers 4'. Lee's cameos have become part of Marvel tradition and audiences enjoy the quirky appearances. With his demise, Marvel will never be the same but director Joe Russo confirmed Lee already filmed for 'Avengers 4', so fans have at least one more cameo to look forward to.
What other cameos we might see Stan Lee in?
Since Russo confirmed Lee shot a bunch of cameos together, fans are likely to see posthumous appearances well into 2019. Surely he has a cameo in 'Captain Marvel' which is releasing before 'Avengers 4'. It has been confirmed that the upcoming 'Into the Spider Verse' film also has a Lee cameo. He might also appear in 'Spider-Man: Far From Home' and X-Men's 'Dark Phoenix'.
There's no use in trying, to deal with the dying
While Lee's posthumous cameos console fans, my heart breaks to think of Marvel without Lee. It seems befitting Lee should see off the end of MCU's phase 2, when 'Avengers 4' releases on May 3, 2019. There's no use in trying to deal with Lee's dying, though we cannot express that in lines, but may Lee's legacy continue 'up and onward to greater glory'.
