SRK promised to help son but...: Aadesh's widow seeks answers
Late music composer Aadesh Shrivastava's wife-former actor and singer Vijayta Pandit recently revealed that Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan had promised to help their son, but is now unreachable. Shrivastava, who composed music for films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... and Chalte Chalte, passed away at 51 in 2015 after battling cancer. In an interview with Lehren Retro, Pandit said that the number SRK gave them was not working.
'This is the time we need you'
Pandit said that her son, Avitesh, wasn't getting support in the film industry. She said that SRK used to visit Shrivastava in the hospital and added, "One day before he died, Aadesh held Shah Rukh's hand when he could not even talk and gestured pointing toward our son that he should look after him." She added, "I just want to remind Shah Rukh that he was a good friend of Aadesh and this is the time we need you."
'SRK can make a film with my son'
Noting Khan "is a very sweet man," Pandit recalled he "came twice to see Aadesh in the last stages of his cancer. Now that he has promised, I want to ask him to help my son; he needs you; he doesn't have a father." "(Khan) can make a film with my son under his production banner Red Chillies Entertainment. (Avitesh) is such a good actor, he is doing a film (Sir Ek Friday) that will have an OTT release..."
'SRK must do something for my family'
Pandit added that her brothers, music composer duo Jatin-Lalit, have played "a big role in his (SRK's) success." She said they gave him back-to-back superhit songs in films like Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman (1992), Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), among others. Pandit said the actor "must do something for her family" given how much her family has contributed to his career.
