'Srikanth' fails to hold its own at the box office
The biographical drama Srikanth, despite featuring renowned actors Rajkummar Rao and Alaya F, is experiencing a disappointing run at the box office. Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, the film was released on May 10 and has only managed to gather a total of ₹17.9 crore to date, as reported by Sacnilk. The film's earnings saw a slight dip on Day 7 (Thursday) of its release, making only ₹1.45 crore compared to ₹1.5 crore on Day 6.
'Srikanth' struggled with low occupancy rates
The film's lackluster box office performance was mirrored in its occupancy rates. Morning shows recorded a low turnout of just 7.16%, which slightly improved to 9.46% for afternoon shows. The evening and night shows fared marginally better, with occupancy percentages of 10.26% and 14.08% respectively, indicating a lukewarm audience response to the film despite a solid real-life story at its heart.
'Srikanth' received praise for engaging narrative
Despite its underwhelming box office performance, Srikanth has been commended for its compelling storyline and focus on equal opportunities and dignity. The film's soundtrack, featuring romantic tracks and a standout rendition of Papa Kehte Hain, was also noted to enhance the movie's emotional impact. Srikanth also stars Jyotika and Sharad Kelkar.
