The biographical drama Srikanth, directed by Tushar Hiranandani and starring Rajkummar Rao has reported a remarkable 90% growth on its second day at the box office. The film raked in around ₹4.25cr on its second day, pushing the two-day total to approximately ₹6.50cr. Despite a modest opening, Srikanth managed to give its competitor Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes a run for its money on Day 2, with both films neck and neck in earnings.
'Srikanth' boasted an impressive Hindi occupancy rates
According to Sacnilk, Srikanth boasted an impressive 20.25% overall Hindi occupancy on Saturday, with night shows leading the pack at a remarkable 25.61%. Notably, Chennai and Bengaluru emerged as top contributors, with audience turnouts reaching 45.25% and 34%, respectively. In contrast, Planet of the Apes—with early estimates pegging its Saturday earnings at ₹4.25cr—experienced a more modest 17.51% overall English occupancy and 16.69% Telugu occupancy.
'Srikanth' projected to earn around ₹11cr over the weekend
Per trade analysts, the weekend earnings for Srikanth will be between ₹11-11.50cr, contingent on its Sunday performance. This significant growth trend suggests a positive trajectory for the film's success. The film's strong performance is particularly noteworthy as it opened higher than other recent well-trended films including Dibakar Banerjee's Love Sex Aur Dhoka 2, and Vidya Balan's Do Aur Do Pyaar.
