National Film Awards: Sridevi, Vinod Khanna honored; amid row
Late actors Sridevi and Vinod Khanna were conferred National Film Awards today. The veteran actress received the award for her performance in 'Mom' and Vinod Khanna was given Dada Saheb Phalke award posthumously. Further, over 70 recipients decided not to attend the event after they learned President Kovind would not hand out all the prizes, and some would be given by Smriti Irani and Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore.

Boney Kapoor arrived in Delhi with his daughters Khushi and Janhvi Kapoor to receive the honor conferred on his deceased wife. He said, "We are proud of her, she truly deserved it. She always gave her best to all her films. Sadly she is not around to accept it. But we are proud of it." Sridevi passed away on February 24, this year.

Pankaj Tripathi says award will make him more confident
For his tremendous contribution to Indian cinema, Vinod Khanna was given the Dada Saheb Phalke award which his son Akshaye Khanna received on his behalf. Divya Dutta won the award for Best Supporting Actress in 'Irada', and Pankaj Tripathi got special mention for 'Newton'. Tripathi said after years, this award will make him confident.

Choreographer Ganesh Acharya got Rajat Kamal for his choreography of 'Gori Tu Lath Maar' of movie 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha'. Shasha Tirupati was awarded Best Female Playback Singer for 'Vaan Varuvaan' from 'Kaatru Veliyidai' (Tamil). The President will give awards to Nagraj Manjule, Sinjar, KJ Yesudas, AR Rahman, Riddhi Sen, Jayaraj, among others.
