Sridevi's family heads to Rameshwaram to immerse her ashes
Boney Kapoor and family have flown down South with an urn carrying the ashes of Sridevi. They will be immersed in the sea near the holy island town of Rameshwaram. The ashes were first brought to Chennai in a special aircraft on Friday and will be taken to Rameshwaram today. Sridevi, 54, was found dead in her hotel room in Dubai.

Sridevi was cremated with full state honors
After her sudden death on 24 February, Sridevi was cremated with state honors at the Vile Parle Seva Samaj Crematorium in Mumbai on Wednesday. The last rites were performed by her husband, Boney Kapoor. On her final journey, the actress was dressed in her favorite red-and-golden Kanjeevaram saree, draped in a tricolor, and placed in a glass casket.

Hailed as India's first female superstar, Sridevi died at a hotel in Dubai. She had gone there to attend a family wedding. The reason of her death was determined to be accidental drowning. In a career spanning 50 years, Sridevi had worked in 300 films. The legend was last seen in 'Mom' in 2017.
