'Speculated untruths': Big B's cryptic post amid Abhishek-Aishwarya's divorce rumors
Amid swirling rumors about his family, Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has taken to his blog to express concern over "speculated untruths without verification." In a lengthy post shared on Thursday, he spoke about the difference between speculation and verification, adding that he rarely speaks about his family in public. "I rarely say much about family because that is my domain and its privacy is maintained by me," he wrote.
Bachchan's views on speculation and verification
Bachchan further elaborated on his views on speculation and verification. He said, "Speculations are speculations...they are speculated untruths, without verifications." "Verifications are sought by the seekers to authenticate their business and commercials of the profession they be in...I shall not challenge their desire to be in the profession of their choice...and I shall appreciate their effort in serving society," he further added.
He questioned the impact of 'questionable' write-ups
The 82-year-old actor also lamented over information ending with a question mark. He said it can be a legal safeguard for those who inform, but also sows the seed of suspected belief. He asked if writers ever think about what their "questionable" write-ups might do to the subject. "Fill the World with untruth or questioned untruth and your job is over," he wrote, adding, "Your conscience, if ever you have one, has been overridden?" he asked.
Bachchan's blog post amid rumors about his family
Bachchan's blog post comes amid months of rumors and speculations about his family, especially about Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's marriage. The divorce rumors grew stronger when they arrived separately at the Ambani wedding earlier this year. However, the Bachchan family has remained dignified and silent on all speculations and reports. In his blog post, he ended with a laughter emoji and said, "EACH PROFESSION CAN HAVE THESE QUALITIES, and this is my safeguard in the write, (sic)."
