Filmmaker Neeraj Pandey has fueled speculation of former Indian men's cricket captain, Sourav Ganguly, making a cameo in his upcoming Netflix series Khakee: The Bengal Chapter.
At the trailer launch event in Kolkata on Wednesday, when asked about rumors of Ganguly's involvement, Pandey cryptically smiled and said, "As far as Sourav is concerned... keep looking."

Pandey's personal connection influenced 'Khakee: The Bengal Chapter' setting
Pandey, the creator of the series, also revealed that his own connections to Kolkata played a part in his decision to set this new installment in the city.
He said, "I was born and brought up in Kolkata. This played an important role in me choosing Kolkata for the second chapter in the series... there was a personal bias."

'The Bengal Chapter' is a sequel to the 2022 show
The upcoming series, directed by Debatma Mandal and Tushar Kanti Ray, is a sequel to Pandey's 2022 show Khakee: The Bihar Chapter.
Set in early 2000s Kolkata, it tells the story of an IPS officer fighting against crime, corruption, and political power.
The trailer, which was dropped on Wednesday, emphasizes the officer's struggle as he dares to take on powerful people running the system.

'Khakee: The Bengal Chapter' features top Bengali actors
The series features a star-studded cast from Bengali cinema, including Prosenjit Chatterjee, Jeet, Parambrata Chatterjee, and Saswata Chatterjee. Notably, it's the first Hindi drama to have an all-Bengali lead ensemble.
Co-written by Pandey, Mandal, and Samrat Chakraborty, Khakee: The Bengal Chapter will premiere on Netflix on March 20.
