Here's why Sonu Sood walked out of Kangana Ranaut's 'Manikarnika'
Sonu Sood has decided to leave Kangana Ranaut-starrer 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' due to scheduling conflict, his spokesperson said. Sonu asked 'Manikarnika' makers to finish reshoots after 'Simmba' schedule
Sonu had asked the makers of the biopic to finish the reshoots after he completes his schedule for 'Simmba' but things did not work out and he decided to quit the project.
Sonu had informed 'Manikarnika' makers about his dates in advance
"Sonu has always been a thorough professional and honored all his commitments. He had informed the makers of Manikarnika about his dates...schedule well in advance. Inconveniencing the team of his current film to accommodate the demands of another are against his professional principles," the spokesperson said. "Sonu has taken higher road ahead and wishes the team of Manikarnika all the best," he added.
Picture of clapboard featuring Kangana's name as director went viral
There were reports that filmmaker Krish Jagarlamudi, who is the director of the historical drama 'Manikarnika', has left the project. The news surfaced online after a picture of a clapboard featuring Kangana's name as the director of the film went viral.
After rumors gained momentum, 'Manikarnika' team rushed to clarify
Kangana Ranaut and her team immediately quelled the rumors of her being the director. She maintained it was a temporary adjustment. The team claimed Krish Jagarlamudi was and would remain the director of the film. Kangana had just momentarily stepped into his shoes to shoot some patchwork, so the film could release as scheduled on January 25, 2019.
