'SKTKS' gets the third biggest opening of 2018 so far
What's the story
'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety' has gone against all the odds and is off to a flying start at the box office.
The Kartik Aaryan-Nushrat Bharucha-Sunny Singh starrer made Rs. 6.42 crore on Day 1 despite facing a clash with the much talked about 'Welcome To New York.'
The film is expected to grow manifolds over the weekend.
Quite a feat
Third biggest opening of 2018 after 'Padmaavat' and 'PadMan'
For a film that neither had any A-list actor nor got a holiday release, to score over Rs. 6 crore on its opening day is commendable.
In fact, the film is only behind 'Padmaavat' and 'PadMan' which made Rs. 19 crore and Rs. 10.26 crore on their first Friday respectively.

He was all praises for 'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety'
Boxoffice can be most unpredictable, but that’s the beauty of this business... No A-list stars... Tongue-twister title... No film franchise... No festival/holiday release... Yet, BO is smiling on #SonuKeTituKiSweety... #RealityCheck... #WakeUpCall... #SKTKS

Claps
Another good start for a Luv Ranjan film
Director Luv Ranjan has got it right yet again. Almost every film of his has been a box office winner.
And he certainly forms a formidable team with Karthik Aryan, Nushrat Bharucha and Sunny Singh.
This is their third film together after 'Akaash Vani' and 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2.'
And, fourth for Luv, Kartik and Nushrat as they also did the first 'PKP' film together.
