Sonam on why her scenes from 'PadMan' were edited
Sonam Kapoor was seen in 'PadMan' two years after her last release 'Neerja.' Her role in the Akshay Kumar's socially relevant drama was comparatively shorter. The actor played second fiddle to Khiladi Kumar who eventually goes on to become his love-interest. Speaking about her role, she said that some of her scenes were edited in order to keep the film short.
"The overall film is more important than the screen time"
Sonam is perfectly fine with her role getting shortened if it is for the betterment of the film. "There was more to my relationship with Akshay than what was shown. It was edited out to make the film shorter. At the end of the day, if we were able to say what we wanted to say, I think it's okay," she said.
A word of advice from Sonam
"You cannot constantly kill yourself over screen time. That'll make you suffer. You got to be confident about the value you bring to the film as well as be conscious of what the film is contributing to the society at large," she further added.
Sonam is busy prepping up for her next film
Sonam will be next seen in her sister Rhea Kapoor's production venture 'Veere Di Wedding' alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan and Swara Bhaskar. Directed by Shashanka Ghosh of 'Khoobsurat' fame, the film will release on June 1. She is also shooting for 'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga' with her dad Anil Kapoor.
