Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja's big fat Punjabi wedding in May this year was a lavish event that made heads turn. But unlike their wedding, Anand's proposal to Sonam wasn't particularly grand. Instead, it was a roadside affair and that too without a ring. Yes! It's true, and Sonam herself made this revelation during a chat show with designer Anaita Shroff Adajania.
Anand popped the question to Sonam in New York
Talking about the proposal, Sonam revealed that Anand had planned it for sometime in October but ended up popping the question a few months later, in New York. "This one day I was being a brat when he was biking and I was walking alongside. He just got off and got on one knee and asked If I wanted to marry him," Sonam said.
Of course she said 'Yes'
It was certainly a big moment for Sonam, after all, she had her prince charming standing right in front of her. But much to everyone's surprise, Sonam had a question before saying 'Yes'. She asked Anand why he liked her. "Of course, he likes me because I am awesome. But I wondered about when I was a brat," she said.
Interestingly, Anand tried to set Sonam with his friend
Sonam also made an interesting revelation of how her hubby Anand tried to set her up with one of his friends initially. But destiny had some other plans for the couple. The actress further mentioned that they connected pretty well and ended up talking for hours. Well, their crackling chemistry is evidently visible and is certainly the best part of their relationship.
