Sonam Kapoor announces first pregnancy, flaunts baby bump in photos
After Priyanka Chopra Jonas welcomed a baby via surrogacy in January, fellow actor Sonam Kapoor announced on Monday she is set to become a mother. Kapoor took to social media to make the big reveal by sharing a series of photos flaunting her baby bump alongside her husband, businessman Anand Ahuja. Soon after, celebrities and fans sent love and best wishes to the couple.
What did Kapoor write in the announcement?
Along with the photos and announcement, Kapoor informed the baby will arrive in fall 2022, that is, around September. "Four hands. To raise you the very best we can. Two hearts. That will beat in unison with yours, every step of the way. One family. Who will shower you with love and support. We can't wait to welcome you. #everydayphenomenal #comingthisfall2022 (sic)," she wrote.

Soon, congratulatory messages poured in
Right after the announcement, fans and celebrities wished the couple luck and sent them best wishes. Celebrity photographer Dabboo Ratnani dropped a congratulatory message with a heart and a hugging emoticon, while singer Shreya Ghoshal, who became a mother in May last year, wrote, "Congratulations! What a wonderful news," along with two heart emoticons. Much love to the couple from our end as well!
Kapoor had slammed pregnancy rumors last July
Rumors of Kapoor's pregnancy were doing the rounds for a long while now. Last July, she quashed those rumors by sharing a snap of herself taking a sip from tea and captioned it as, "Hot water bottle and ginger tea for first day of my period (sic)," effectively putting a rest to those rumors. To recall, the couple tied the knot in 2018.

On the work front, Kapoor's last full-fledged role was in The Zoya Factor that released in 2019. The sports drama had Malayalam superstar Dulquer Salmaan as the male lead.
