Sonakshi Sinha, born on June 2, 1987, is an Indian actress and singer. She is the daughter of actors Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha. She made her acting debut in 2010 by playing Rajjo Pandey in 'Dabangg' opposite Salman Khan. She reprised the role of Rajjo in the 'Dabangg' franchise's next two installments, 'Dabangg 2' (2012) and 'Dabangg 3' (2019). Her portrayal of Pakhi Roy Chaudhary, a woman suffering from tuberculosis, in the 2013 film 'Lootera' earned her a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress along with nominations for two Screen Awards and an IIFA Award. Sinha rose to popularity with her roles in movies like 'Rowdy Rathore', 'Son of Sardaar', and 'Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty', among others. Later, she ventured into singing with an appearance in the single 'Let's Celebrate' from the film 'Tevar' (2015). Her debut single, titled 'Aaj Mood Ishqholic Hai', was released also released in 2015. Being an animal lover, Sinha has collaborated posed for several of PETA's campaigns.
