Soha recalls how father Mansoor Ali locked their only telephone
What's the story
Soha Ali Khan, daughter of former yet legendary Indian cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and veteran actor Sharmila Tagore, recently opened up about her childhood experiences.
She credited her father's teachings for instilling a humble and realistic view of wealth and prosperity in herself and her siblings, Saif Ali Khan and Saba Ali Khan.
Despite their privileged upbringing in a large family, Soha described their childhood as "normal" due to these lessons.
Financial lessons
Soha's father emphasized financial responsibility
Soha revealed her father stressed on financial responsibility. She recalled having only one telephone at home, often monopolized by her sister, Saba.
"But my father would sit on top of that phone all day long and at night, he'd lock it."
"He left post-it notes all over the house saying 'Turn off the lights.' If I wanted to go to a friend's house, he would say: 'Petrol is very expensive,'" she added during a conversation with The Quizzitok Podcast.
Parental influence
Soha credited both parents for teaching financial responsibility
Soha also shared an interesting anecdote about a financial lesson from her father.
He once offered her ₹500 upfront or ₹50 annually till she turned 25.
She acknowledged both parents for instilling financial responsibility, highlighting her mother's careful management of household expenses, including knowing the price of vegetables.
