'Singham Again' release postponed to Diwali 2024: Report
If reports are to be believed, the much-anticipated Rohit Shetty film, Singham Again, initially slated for an August 15, 2024 release, has been postponed. Insiders at Bollywood Hungama told the portal that the production taking longer than expected is the reason. The team, including Shetty and lead star Ajay Devgn, has been working tirelessly on the project but the complexity of the film requires more time and attention.
No compromises on quality, makers don't want to rush
The delay in Singham Again's release is attributed to the filmmakers' commitment to quality. According to a trade source, Shetty and Devgn are not interested in rushing the film just to meet a specific release date. Instead, they are focused on ensuring their vision for the film is fully realized without any compromises. This decision has been communicated to producers Jio Studios, leaving the previously planned August 15 slot vacant.
Diwali 2024: The new target for 'Singham Again' release
Jio Studios has proposed a new release date for Singham Again - Diwali 2024. This suggestion is reportedly under review by Shetty and Devgn, reportedly. The above-mentioned source added, "The timelines of VFX and background score are now being reworked keeping the Diwali 2024 deadline in mind." It's worth noting that the festive period of Diwali has previously proven to be auspicious for the Ajay-Rohit combo.
If true, we won't see 'Singham Again' v/s 'Pushpa 2'
If the latest report proves to be true, then it would mean the industry will avoid a major clash of biggies this Independence Day week. Singham Again was set to lock horns with Allu Arjun's much-anticipated Pushpa 2: The Rule in theaters in August. If Devgn's multi-starrer actioner backs out, then the Sukumar directorial will get a massive solo release. An enigmatic teaser was released earlier this month, on Arjun's birthday.
