Renowned Telugu singer, Kalpana Raghavendar, has been hospitalized after she allegedly attempted suicide at her home in Nizampet, Hyderabad.
The 44-year-old artist was found unconscious by police after she reportedly consumed sleeping pills.
Her husband, Prabhakar, who was in Chennai when the incident happened, immediately rushed to Hyderabad after learning about his wife's situation.
Raghavendar was taken to the hospital in critical condition and put on ventilator support. Currently, she is stable.

Police investigation underway into Raghavendar's alleged suicide attempt
Reportedly, the police received an emergency call from Raghavendar's apartment committee at around 5:00pm. They found her apartment locked from the inside and spotted the singer unconscious from the kitchen window.
Prabhakar, who was interrogated by the authorities, claimed he had been away in Chennai for two days before the incident.
The police took him to their residence for further investigation of the scene.
Till now, neither Raghavendar's team nor her family has issued an official statement on the matter.

The daughter of celebrated singer TS Raghavendar, Raghavendar has had a successful career spanning over two decades. She has recorded over 1,500 songs and worked with music legends like Ilaiyaraaja and AR Rahman.
In 2010, she won the reality show Star Singer Malayalam. Her song Pogiren from Jyotika-starrer 36 Vayadhinile won her the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer in 2015.

Apart from her singing career, Raghavendar has also contributed to cinema in terms of acting. She had a minor role in the Kamal Haasan-starrer Punnagai Mannan in 1986.
More recently, she lent her voice to the song Telangana Tejam for the Telugu film Keshava Chandra Ramavath (2024).
