Is Deepika being considered to play PV Sindhu in biopic?
Deepika Padukone, who will soon be seen in Chhapaak (based on acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal), might have another biopic in her kitty. Reportedly, she's being considered to play badminton champion PV Sindhu for a biopic. In fact, Sindhu also expressed her desire to see Deepika essaying her role in the movie. "She had played the game and is a good actor," she highlighted.
"Would definitely want Deepika to play the character"
According to media reports, Sindhu's biopic will be made by actor Sonu Sood, who had acquired the rights of the movie around two years ago. Ever since there has been a buzz about which actress would step into Sindhu's shoes for the big screen. Talking about the same, the world champion had told Hindustan Times, "Would definitely want Deepika Padukone to play the character."
Deepika is a badminton pro, played at national level
Deepika would certainly be an apt choice for Sindhu's biopic, given her familiarity with the game. To note, the actress, who is the daughter of former badminton champion Prakash Padukone, is a professional badminton player herself, and has played at the national level. However, the makers are yet to take a call about roping in the Bajirao Mastani actress for the project.
Currently, Deepika is busy with Kabir Khan's '83 opposite Ranveer
Meanwhile, Deepika is busy shooting for Kabir Khan's '83, opposite husband Ranveer Singh. Based on the Indian cricket team's glorious triumph in the 1983 World Cup, the movie will have Ranveer playing the role of former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev. Notably, this will be Ranveer and Deepika's first movie together after their marriage in November 2018. '83 will release on April 10, 2020.
Deepika might play Sita in Nitesh Tiwari's 'Ramayana,' say reports
Besides, there are reports that the Piku actress is being considered to play Sita in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. Reportedly, the movie will have Hrithik Roshan playing Lord Rama on the big screen. As per a Filmfare report, the movie will be a live-action trilogy, and will be made with a whopping budget of Rs. 500cr. The movie will, reportedly, be shot in 3D.
