Rohit Shetty tells why he avoided 'Simmba'-'Zero' clash
This December, Bollywood will witness the release of two of the most awaited movies of 2018 - Shah Rukh Khan's 'Zero' and Rohit Shetty's 'Simmba'. These two big budget movies will be releasing on December 21 and December 28 respectively. Interestingly, Rohit revealed that 'Zero' and 'Simmba' were, earlier, slated to release on the same date, which would have affected the collections of both.
Averting the clash was a mutual decision: Rohit
Rohit further added that he, along with Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan, mutually decided not to release both the movies on the same day. Instead, they opted for a week's gap. The filmmaker also asserted that there is no competition between 'Simmba' and 'Zero'. "If the film does well in the first week, it will go on. There is no competition," Rohit said.
'Simmba' is Rohit's best-written movie
Rohit Shetty, who is excited about 'Simmba', said that it is his best-written movie so far. We thank the stars! Starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan in the lead, 'Simmba' is the remake of Jr NTR's hit Telugu movie 'Temper'. "It is a remake and there's no harm in making remakes. Simmba has a message in it," he explained.
Rohit is all praises for Ranveer
Ranveer is a stupendous actor, who has proved his acting prowess time and again, and it has translated to box office numbers too. And, that's why, Rohit has high hopes for 'Simmba'. "With this film, Ranveer will be able to display his range as a commercial star. 'Simmba' is his biggest out-and-out masala film and I have full faith in it," Rohit said.
