Actor Sidharth Malhotra has reportedly signed a new film, which is being touted as an out-and-out commercial entertainer. The upcoming project will be produced by Mahaveer Jain, according to a source quoted by Bollywood Hungama. The source also revealed that the movie will feature loads of comedy and a thrill element. This news comes just a day after reports revealed that Malhotra has reportedly exited the action drama Mitti due to creative differences with the director.
'Film will present Malhotra in a never-before-seen avatar...'
The source told the portal, "Sidharth has signed a film which is an out-and-out entertainer. It has loads of comedy and also has a thrill element." "Sidharth excitedly came on board as he knows that it's a film that'll present him in a never-before-seen avatar and also expand his fan base." "As a result, he's giving his hundred percent toward prepping for the role," the insider revealed.
Film to go on floors in first quarter of 2025
The source further said that Jain and his crew are in advanced talks with a top director for the upcoming film. A clearer picture in this regard would emerge in a week or so, they added. The insider also revealed that the title of the film is yet to be locked. Malhotra and Jain are looking at taking the film on floors in the first quarter of 2025.
Malhotra in talks for Karan Johar's action film
Separately, Malhotra is also in advanced talks to play the lead in Karan Johar's action film. "Sidharth Malhotra and Karan Johar share a very special bond, and the latter feels that the former is meant to do action films," a trade source had told the portal. "He narrated the film to Sid, and the actor has shown interest in mentors' action film," they added. Malhotra was last seen in Yodha (2024), which was produced by Johar's Dharma Productions.
