Sidharth Malhotra quits 'Mitti' just a month before filming: Report
Sidharth Malhotra has reportedly walked out of the action drama Mitti due to creative differences with the director, leading to an indefinite hold on the film. The project, which was to be produced by Murad Khetani and directed by Balwinder Singh Janjua, also features South Indian sensation Sreeleela. According to a PeepingMoon report, Malhotra's exit comes just weeks before the film's production was set to begin.
What is the reason behind Malhotra's exit?
The reasons behind Malhotra's abrupt departure from Mitti are not clear. Per the report, sources suggested he was not satisfied with the project's direction, while others hinted at the actor's desire for more creative control on set. There are also rumors that Malhotra's recent box office performance may have influenced his decision, possibly making it challenging to secure funding for the film.

In a previous interview with Bollywood Hungama, director Singh Janjua described Mitti as an "action drama set in Uttarakhand." He further explained that the story revolves around "guilt, living with the baggage of guilt," and explores themes of "saving your home and your land, your heritage." The film emphasizes the importance of family and relationships. To note, Malhotra was last seen in Pushkar Ojha-directed Yodha.
