'Not conventional biopic': Director teases love saga 'Kamal Aur Meena'
What's the story
Siddharth P. Malhotra, the director of the successful Netflix film Maharaj, is now working on a new project—Kamal Aur Meena.
The film is based on the real-life romance of legendary actor Meena Kumari and filmmaker Kamal Amrohi.
Speaking to ETimes, Malhotra called it his "most commercial" work yet, promising it will not be an arthouse film or "conventional biopic."
The lead actors haven't been announced yet.

Malhotra's journey from TV to OTT platforms
Before stepping into films, Malhotra had a successful run in television as a producer, managing over 30-40 series.
He then made his way into the world of web series with Doctors, which is currently streaming on JioCinema.
Although he hasn't directed an OTT series yet, he's been producing long-form work including a few over-the-top episodes.
