Siddhant-Triptii's 'Dhadak 2' release delayed to 2025: Here's why
The highly anticipated romantic drama Dhadak 2, featuring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, has been postponed from its initial November 22 release date. A source close to the production revealed to Mid-Day that "a few songs and some patchwork have yet to be filmed." The insider also stated that the makers are now aiming for a release in the first quarter of 2025.
'Dhadak 2' is a remake of Tamil hit 'Pariyerum Perumal'
Dhadak 2 is an official remake of the successful Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal (2018), which narrates a love story set against the backdrop of casteism. The Hindi adaptation, directed by Shazia Iqbal, will reportedly address this subject directly. "This time around, Karan [Johar] as well as Shazia are going all out in exploring the issue," stated the source.
Post-production changes and box office concerns influenced delay
The source further disclosed that changes in the post-production team have contributed to the delay. Additionally, the disappointing performance of Chaturvedi's recent film Yudhra at the box office has also influenced the decision to postpone Dhadak 2. "After its underwhelming run, the team felt it wise to have a considerable gap between the two movies," explained another insider.
