'Heeramandi': Shooting intimate scene gave Shruti Sharma body rashes
Shruti Sharma, known for her role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's series Heeramandi, recently opened up about her experience filming an intimate scene with co-star Rajat Kaul. In an interview with Entertainment Live, she revealed that the challenging scene took a full day to shoot and even resulted in body rashes. Sharma described the choreography as demanding due to the close physical contact between the actors.
It was a new experience for Sharma
Sharma said, "That type of romance I had done for the first time on the screen. We were rolling and we were talking, and you know it was difficult choreography, we were on top of each other." "I got rashes on my body because it was so harsh. I think we shot that scene for on whole day and when that scene got over, my kajal was smudged because there was dust and dirt. But the scene looks so beautiful."
Earlier, Sharma expresseed trust in director Bhansali
In a previous conversation with Pinkvilla, Sharma expressed her trust in director Bhansali's choices. She stated, "If Sanjay sir has decided something, he is wise enough to choose his actors. I'm sure it is quite well thought out. You can't question his vision." Heeramandi, now streaming on Netflix, features a star-studded cast including Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Shekhar Suman, Adyayan Suman, and Richa Chaddha in key roles.
Sharma's previous projects and audition process
Sharma has earlier starred in the films Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya and Pagglait, alongside TV shows such as Gathbandhan, Nazar, and Namak Issk Ka. In Heeramandi, she plays Saima, a maid. Earlier, she told India Today about her audition, "I remember I was so nervous that I was literally shivering. He asked his assistants to help me put some kajal, while asking me to show some adaayein (demeanor). I don't really remember what I performed but I wasn't really happy."
