Shreya postpones Kolkata concert in solidarity with RG Kar victim
In light of the recent protests in Kolkata following the brutal rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor, singer Shreya Ghoshal has decided to postpone her upcoming concert. The event, originally scheduled for September 14, 2024, at the Netaji Indoor Stadium, will now take place in October. Ghoshal announced this decision on her social media platforms on Saturday.
Ghoshal expresses deep sorrow over the incident
In her post, Ghoshal expressed that she was "deeply affected by the gruesome and heinous incident." She described the "sheer brutality" of the crime as something that sent "shivers down her spine." She stated, "With an aching heart and with deep sorrow, my promoters (Ishq FM) and I wish to reschedule our concert 'Shreya Ghoshal Live, All Hearts Tour lshq FM Grand Concert' which was originally scheduled for the 14th of September 2024, to a new date in October 2024."
Ghoshal urges fans to stand united against such atrocities
Ghoshal emphasized the importance of taking a stand and joining others in solidarity during these troubling times. "Please stay together with my band and myself, as we stand united against the demons of humankind," she urged. She assured fans that their current tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled date. The new date for the concert, which will still happen at the Netaji Indoor Stadium, is yet to be announced. Tickets for the event are reportedly priced at ₹1749 onwards.
