What's the story

In 2010, Salman Khan gave us the iconic character of Chulbul Pandey in Dabangg. And now after nine years and two installments, the superstar is all set to reprise his cult role in the third part of the cop drama franchise. Yes! The wait is finally over as Salman is all set to begin shooting for Dabangg 3 today in Indore. Here's more.

Salman expresses excitement to shoot in Indore, his birthplace

The announcement was made by Salman himself on social media. He shared a video with his brother Arbaaz, where they revealed details about the shooting of Dabangg 3. In the video, Salman mentioned that they are excited to shoot in Indore, which happens to be the birthplace of the Khan brothers. Their grandfather was also posted there while serving the police force, he informed.

Salman to collaborate with Prabhudeva after 10 years

Notably, unlike the first two installments, which were directed by Abhinav Kashyap and Arbaaz Khan respectively, Dabangg 3 will be helmed by Prabhudeva. Interestingly, Prabhudeva will be collaborating with Salman a decade after their 2009 release Wanted. "Who says no to them? We've been closely associated for the longest time. I share a warm friendship with Salman and his brothers," Prabhudeva had stated.

Excitement

Sonakshi back as Rajjo, says 'like homecoming for me'

Apart from Salman as Chulbul, Dabangg 3 will also star Sonakshi Sinha reprising the role of Rajjo in the movie. The actress, who made her debut with the Dabangg franchise in 2010, is excited to be a part of the third installment. "I've started my film journey with Dabangg so it's like a homecoming for me. I am very excited," Sonakshi had mentioned.

Release

Meanwhile, Salman gearing up for his first release of 2019

Meanwhile, Salman is looking forward to the release of Bharat, which is slated to hit theaters this Eid. Helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the movie is based on the South Korean movie, Ode To My Father. Apart from Salman, Bharat also stars Katrina Kaif, Jackie Shroff, Tabu, Sunil Grover, Disha Patani in key roles. Further, Varun Dhawan will also have a cameo in it.
