'Bigg Boss' offered Rajesh Khanna a fortune—here's why he denied
What's the story
Veteran actor Rajesh Khanna was once offered a place on the reality show Bigg Boss, but he rejected the opportunity.
His rumored partner Anita Advani recently revealed the reason behind it in an interview with Mid-Day.
Despite a lucrative monetary offer, Khanna found the show unfit for his stature.
Advani, who apparently stayed with Khanna for 12 years before his death, revealed he was contemplating the offer initially.
The superstar died in July 2012.

'I said, 'No Kakaji, not at all...'
Advani told the publication, "They were paying him a huge amount. They also went to Delhi to convince him, and he was contemplating whether he should or not. So, one night, he said, 'I think if I go to Bigg Boss, I will become a better person.'"
"I said, 'What?' He and Bigg Boss? I said, 'No Kakaji, not at all. You have such an aura and personality; I don't think you can fit there.'"

Khanna's disbelief over show's format and conditions
Advani further elaborated, "I informed him, 'Contestants in that show are made to do household chores like washing utensils.'
To this, he reacted with disbelief, asking, "They would expect me to do that as well?" Advani reassured him, "Probably not in your case."
"I also mentioned, 'The food provided there is quite inadequate.' He responded with humor, 'Is this a refugee camp or what?'"
Earlier refusal
'Rajesh Khanna does not participate in such programs'
Interestingly, this isn't the first time we hear of Khanna rejecting an offer from Bigg Boss.
Back in 2012, veteran journalist Ali Peter John wrote in a Rediff article that the makers had approached him for arranging a meeting with Khanna.
The superstar, however, swiftly dismissed the idea, reportedly saying, "No, no. Rajesh Khanna does not participate in such programs."
In fact, several reports claim that the Wafaa actor was offered a staggering ₹3.5 crore per episode for Bigg Boss.
