'Gangster' actor Shiney Ahuja's controversial life to have a biopic?
Remember Shiney Ahuja, the handsome actor who won our hearts with his strong acting in Gangster, Woh Lamhe, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa? His career received a huge jolt when he was accused of raping his then minor maid in 2009, for which he was also jailed. Ahuja is back in headlines as Raid producer Kumar Mangat is keen to make a movie on his life.
Shiney's maid had filed an FIR against him in 2009
It was in June 2009 when Shiney's maid filed an FIR against him for raping her. The 43-year-old was arrested soon after. Later in August, police filed a 109-page chargesheet against Shiney accusing him of rape, wrongful confinement and threatening his maid. However, in 2010, the maid changed her statement and dropped the charges. The actor was released on bail in 2011.
Is Shiney not in favor of getting his biopic made?
Reports of Shiney's biopic got his fans excited. However, it is still an unconfirmed news. Meanwhile, a source close to the producer stated that Mangat didn't get consent from Shiney, who made his debut with Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi (2003), yet. "The producer has not got Shiney Ahuja's consent to make the film. He is, therefore, keeping it under wraps," the source added.
Biopic not to show Shiney in good light
Reportedly, unlike the usual biopics, this one will not portray Shiney in a good light or whitewash his image. It will aim to present the unknown facts about Shiney's controversial life. On the work front, he was last seen in 2015 multi-starrer release Welcome Back. Although the movie did a good business at box-office, it failed to revive the fading star's career.
