Shilpa Shinde on #MeToo movement: 'It is rubbish and useless'
The #MeToo movement in the industry has taken the nation with a storm where women are actively calling out their harassers. While the B-town has come out in support of #MeToo, 'Bigg Boss 11' winner Shilpa Shinde has rubbished the movement and said it is all useless. Her statement came after celebrities like Alok Nath, Vikas Bahl etc were accused of sexual harassment.
It's important to take a call on the spot: Shilpa
Talking about the burning issue, Shilpa said there is no point raising the issue later as one must speak up on the spot. "Jab hota hai, tabhi bolo - baad mei bolne ka koi faayeda nahi, it's useless," she stated. Shilpa also said raising the voice later is nothing but a way to create a controversy which, according to her, is pointless.
There is no rape in this industry, says Shilpa
Shilpa also spoke about the rape allegations being made on the industry stalwarts; she maintained that everything happens with mutual consent. She said that she doesn't understand why people are defaming the industry as it follows the give and take policy. "Whatever has happened in our industry, it's a mutual understanding. It's a mutual thing," Shilpa added.
The movement will not bring any change
If that's not all, Shilpa also went on to say that the #MeToo movement would not bring any change in the society. "I feel whatever is happening today - it's something different - nothing will be changed. It will go on and on and on. I don't know why they are spoiling our industry's name," she added. Do you agree with her?
