Trump says Swift 'will pay a price' for backing Harris
Former US President Donald Trump has dismissed singer Taylor Swift's endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 presidential elections. Speaking on Fox News's Fox & Friends, Trump expressed his preference for Brittany Mahomes, wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, over Swift. This comes after Mahomes recently made headlines for liking one of Trump's Instagram posts detailing his 2024 GOP platform.
'She's much better than Taylor Swift,' says Trump
When asked about Swift's endorsement of his Democratic rival, Trump responded, "I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better, if you want to know the truth. She's a big Trump fan." He added, "I like Brittany. I think Brittany's great. She's a big MAGA fan. Much better than Taylor Swift." Meanwhile, for her post, Mahomes faced significant backlash, with critics interpreting it as an endorsement of the former president. She later hit back at her "haters" on social media.
Trump criticized Swift's political leanings
Trump also addressed Swift's political leanings, stating, "She's a very liberal person." He added, "She seems to always endorse a Democrat and she'll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace." Following the recent presidential debate, Swift had taken to Instagram to express her support for Harris. She praised the Vice President as a "steady-handed, gifted leader" who fights for important rights and causes.
