Shatrughan Sinha is not happy with Kapil Sharma: Here's why
While Kapil Sharma is a favorite among celebrities and fans, he got on the wrong side of veteran actor turned politician, Shatrughan Sinha, with his mimicry act. Sinha said Sharma's act was in bad taste and revealed that daughter Sonakshi Sinha reprimanded him for crossing the line. According to Sinha, even Sonakshi agreed that it was crass and not at all funny.
Understanding why Sharma's actions irked Sinha
Kapil Sharma had a segment in his former 'The Kapil Sharma Show', which was inspired by KBC. Sharma, dressed as Bhojpuri speaking man, quizzed celebrities with the questions and answers intended to make viewers laugh. But Sharma copied Sinha, his accent, his 'khamosh' dialogue, and his mannerisms in the segment. This mimicry irked Sinha and he said humor should have limits.
Humor has its place, but so does decency, feels Sinha
Sinha, now a Member of the Parliament, called out Sharma's antics in mimicking him. The yesteryear's star recognized that famous people were often mimicked. However, he was firm that the mimicry should be decent and within limits. He reaffirmed that mimicry should be restricted to the stage and never brought onto the streets or the Parliament.
Sinha says daughter Sonakshi wasn't pleased either
Shatrughan Sinha said, "All the greats Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Amitabh Bachchan have mimics impersonating them... the mimicry does not cross the limits of decency. This happened to me when Kapil Sharma made fun of me on his show. My daughter Sonakshi even reprimanded him."
Separately, it's been a rough time for Kapil Sharma
Sharma is not new to controversies. He has been in trouble before due to his alcoholism, depression and unprofessionalism. His public meltdown regarding abusing a journalist and the recent cancelation of 'Family Time with Kapil' spelt more trouble for the star comedian. One can only hope he cleans up his act soon.
