Shatrughan Sinha shares a funny incident on Kapil Sharma's show
Kapil Sharma is back with The Kapil Sharma Show, and how. This weekend, veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha made candid revelations about his personal life and his close friend Pahlaj Nihalani. The Vishwanath actor revealed how the former CBFC chief got insecure of him after his girlfriend asked for Shatrughan's autograph. Here's more on what he said.
Nihalani's girlfriend was Shatrughan's biggest fan
Talking about the amusing incident, Shatrughan said Nihalani's then-girlfriend (and now wife) happened to be the actor's biggest fan. She once took Shatrughan's autograph, which left the former CBFC chief fuming. "Although Pahlaj liked me, he was upset why his girlfriend took a villain's autograph," Shatrughan stated. He even revealed that Pahlaj didn't speak to him for six months post this incident.
He spoke about his filmy love story too
Shatrughan's wife Poonam Sinha also revealed a romantic anecdote from their married life. The lady shared how the two met during a train journey and fell in love with each other. "We both were crying during the journey. I was scolded by my mother while he was upset about leaving his parents. Shatrughan tried his best to talk to me but couldn't," Poonam revealed.
Fun fact: Poonam's mother had rejected Shatrughan's proposal
Just like every other love story, Shatrughan-Poonam's story too had their share of troubles. Poonam revealed that Shatrughan's brother Ram and director Ramesh Sippy spoke to her mother for the marriage. However, Poonam's mother wasn't pleased and lashed out at them for suggesting a 'villain' for her daughter. "My mother rejected Shatrughan's proposal due to his looks. But later she agreed," Poonam added.
Shatrughan reveals why he was offered negative roles
Notably, there was a time when Shatrughan was known for arriving late for shoots. His lack of punctuality was often criticized by the industry. Talking about it, Shatrughan revealed that Manoj Kumar once told him that it was because of the punctuality issues that he became the onscreen villain during the beginning of his career. Nevertheless, viewers loved him in negative roles too.
