Details

How does the trailer begin?

The clip lasts for 3:25 minutes, which is pretty long for a trailer, but its content keeps you absorbed right from frame one. It starts with the information that both Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal will be seen in the titular character of Sharmaji in this film and for the "first time," Hindi cinema will witness two "legendary actors" in the same role.

Information

What else does the trailer show?

The trailer starts by showing how Sharmaji is finding his retired life "slow and long," and wants to engage himself in some activity. Suggestions from his friend (Satish Kaushik) range from becoming a dog walker to finding a new job. Finally, he comes up with something that resonates with Sharmaji: a cook for a spiritual gathering. And, this changes his life.

Observation

There's a romance angle as well

Meanwhile, another arc runs in parallel: that of a blooming romance between Sharmaji and Rinku (Juhi Chawla). And, Kaushik's character asking him to take "pills" is a hilarious part of the trailer. Then, the conflict in Sharmaji's life comes when his son dislikes this new phase, but the former declares that he is what he is and he does not require anyone's permission.
