'If Orry's a liver...I'm a learner': Shalini Passi
The breakout star of Netflix's reality show Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives, Shalini Passi, recently opened up about her experience with Hindustan Times. The Delhi-based art enthusiast said she was surprised by the overwhelming love and affection she has received from viewers since the show's premiere. "I'm absolutely overwhelmed and really humbled by the response," she said. "People are calling me the pop-culture icon, the national sweetheart...The love is coming from everybody."
Passi's secret sauce for going viral
When asked if she could overshadow Orry as a viral sensation, Passi said: "Only if you are happy are you able to give back to society. Only if you feel loved can you give love. If you don't feel love for yourself, if you don't have self-love, you cannot give unconditionally." Reflecting on her dynamic with Orry, she concluded, "If Orry is a liver, I'm a learner." She also highlighted the role of passion, contentment, and goal-setting in her journey.
Passi's family reaction and philanthropic efforts
Passi revealed that her businessman husband Sanjay Passi hasn't seen the series yet, but their son Robin watched it with friends and was happy with the result. She also revealed that all proceeds from her debut on Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives were donated to UNICEF India. This goes toward their common dream of improving childcare initiatives in Purnea, Bihar.
Passi's experience and potential return to the show
Reflecting on her time on the show, Passi called it a fun and memorable experience. "My takeaway from the show is that seven girls are always fun," she said. On a possible return for the fourth season, she said, "Let's see how things go... If the viewers want me there and the makers want me there, I will be there." "I have been receiving a lot of shows...but we are just in talks...let's see what comes out of it."
