Shahid is all geared up for his next project
Shahid will be next seen in 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu' to be directed by Shree Narayan Singh of 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' fame. Based on a small town's man struggle to bring down the high electricity costs, the film also features Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam in pivotal roles. It is bankrolled by Prernaa Arora's KriArj Entertainment.
Distributors quoting better prices for 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu'
"It's true that 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu' is a much bigger project now. Distributors are willing to pay a much more for a Shahid solo-starrer than they were earlier," says a news report. Well, it was long due for Shahid who has time and again proved his mettle as an actor with films like 'Kaminey', 'Haider' and 'Udta Punjab.'

"We did not sign him for how saleable he was. We signed him because he's one of our finest star-actors and perfect for the role in our film. The dedication with which he had has prepared for his role has bowled us over," she said.
