How was Shahid Kapoor's first-ever meeting with Mira? Actor reveals
Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput are happily married for four years now, and are proud parents to Misha and Zain. But did you know when the couple had met for the first time, the Haider actor thought that their meeting would not last more than 15 minutes? But much to their surprise, they ended up talking for more than seven hours, he revealed recently.
Shahid's concern: Are we even going to last 15 minutes?
In his recent interaction with Vogue, Shahid shared that his interaction with Mira was arranged by their respective families, who met through a religious group. Talking of the same, he said, "The only thought going through my mind was, 'Here we are, sitting in this room on these two big sofas with nobody else around. Are we even going to last 15 minutes?'"
Mira on her non-filmy background: It was a good thing
Mira, on her part, revealed that her non-filmy background turned out to be the strongest point in their marriage. She believes this helped them know each other better. "I think it was a good thing because following that first chat when we actually got to know each other, it was for who we're, not for who others think we are," Mira added.
Mira has been Shahid's pillar of strength post their marriage
Notably, ever since their marriage in 2015, Mira has been Shahid's pillar of strength in good times and bad. "A large part of who I'm has been formed since the day we got married," Shahid had stated. However, their journey wasn't smooth, especially when Shahid was shooting for Udta Punjab. In fact, his portrayal of Tommy Singh made Mira jump out of her skin.
Mira was shocked to see Shahid as Tommy Singh
"We sat together on a sofa and somewhere around the interval, she had moved five feet away. She looked at me and said, 'You're not this guy, right? Is this guy anywhere inside you? Tell me now while I can still walk away!'" Shahid said.
Shahid and Mira have an age gap of 13 years
Interestingly, while this couple often gives relationship goals to everyone, their age gap of 13-years leaves people surprised. However, Shahid and Mira have their way of dealing with this, as they tend to take benefit of both "experience" and "fresh perspective." "He's lived longer, so if anything, I can benefit from his experience, and he can benefit from my fresh perspective," said Mira.
Meanwhile, Shahid is yet to announce his next project
As far as work is concerned, Shahid is basking in the success of his last release, Kabir Singh. The movie registered a lifetime collection of Rs. 330 crore, and emerged as the 11th highest-grossing film worldwide. After the mammoth success, Shahid has certainly become the go-to-guy for producers. Although he is rumored to be in talks for several projects, an official announcement is awaited.
