Shahid Kapoor waxed! Unveils his statue at Madame Tussauds, Singapore
Last July, Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor had said on Instagram that his wax statue at Madame Tussauds, Singapore, is being made. Today, the Udta Punjab actor shared a picture with his statue, and for a moment you won't be able to identify who the real Shahid is. He had left for Singapore with his wife Mira Rajput and kids earlier for this occasion.
His kids won't see the statue though
Shahid was spotted leaving for Singapore at the Mumbai airport with Rajput, and his two kids, Misha and Zain, yesterday. However, the actor decided not to take his kids for the unveiling as it would confuse them. Thus, they won't be seeing their father's statue anytime soon. Reportedly, the 38-year-old actor said, "It could be a traumatic experience for them to see two dads."
Everyone had a big smile on their faces, says Shahid
When asked about his family's excitement about it, Shahid told The Hindustan Times, "They all had a big smile on their faces when they learned about it. They were like, 'oh, it's great'. All of them had a genuine reaction of happiness and surprise."
Fans flooded social media with their love for actor
While Shahid called the statue a compliment and expressed his feelings about being a "part of an elite group of people who are achievers", his fans are going crazy since the post was shared. Many can't believe the uncanny resemblance the statue shares with the actor, and several of them have flooded the comments section with their appreciation for the same.

Shahid's next, 'Kabir Singh', to hit theaters on June 21
On the work front, Shahid is looking forward to the release of Kabir Singh, with actress Kiara Advani. Kabir Singh is the Hindi remake of the widely appreciated Telugu blockbuster, Arjun Reddy, starring Vijay Deverakonda, and is being directed by Sandeep Vanga. While the trailer of the upcoming movie has been released, the movie is set to hit the big screen on June 21.
Shahid also spoke on the comparison with 'Arjun Reddy'
The remakes are bound to be compared with the original pieces. On that, Shahid said, "As an actor, you want to give people an equally enjoyable experience, and even try to come up with something new and surprising. And my focus was on that."
