'Kabir Singh' beats 'Bharat'; to become 2019's highest-grosser
Shahid Kapoor's Kabir Singh has set the cash registers on fire and continues to be unstoppable. The movie, which opened to rave reviews, witnessed a great opening at the box office. Continuing its winning momentum, Kabir Singh is all set to become the highest grosser of 2019. In fact, it has beaten Uri and Bharat to become the fastest entrant in Rs. 200cr club.
Fastest entry in Rs. 200cr club, achieved in 13 days
Kabir Singh, a remake of Arjun Reddy, has entered the coveted Rs. 200cr club today. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh states that the movie has achieved this feat in just 13 days of its release. Notably, it has become this year's fastest entrant in the club after outshining Vicky Kaushal's Uri and Salman Khan's Bharat, which crossed the mark in 28 and 14 days, respectively.

'Kabir Singh' set to cross lifetime collection of 'Bharat'
Reportedly, Kabir Singh is expected to mint around Rs. 7cr today. Given its commendable run, it is also expected to surpass the lifetime collection of Bharat (Rs. 210.68cr) and Uri (Rs. 245.36cr), becoming the highest grosser of this year. In fact, as per a Box Office India report, Kabir Singh is all set to become the most-viewed movie of 2019 after outshining Uri.
The film is Shahid's first solo entry in the club
Interestingly, Kabir Singh is Shahid's first solo entry in the Rs. 200cr club in his 16-year-long career and is his best performance till date. Talking about it, he admitted that the role was quite challenging. "Since I had three distinct looks in the film, I had to transform myself to quite an extent. I had to smoke cigarettes, grow my beard," he had said.

Meanwhile, there are reports that Shahid is being considered for the Bollywood remake of Telugu sports drama Jersey, along with brother Ishaan Khatter. "It's an adventure based action drama. He plays a biker in the film. The movie is expected to roll sometime around January 2020. Shahid is definitely doing the film," a source stated. The movie will, reportedly, be produced by Dharma Productions.
