Shahid Kapoor roped in for Hindi remake of 'Arjun Reddy'
Shahid Kapoor is on a film signing spree. After 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu' and 'Airlift' director Raja Krishnan Menon's untitled next, Shahid has now bagged the Hindi remake of Telugu blockbuster 'Arjun Reddy'. Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the director of the original version, will direct the remake too. Shahid seems to have become the new favorite of the filmmakers after the success of 'Padmaavat'.
Shahid was the first and only choice for the film
Speaking to a publication, Vanga said, "As an actor, Shahid has no inhibitions. Arjun Reddy is a character with a lot of rage and I think Shahid can convincingly bring it alive. I was clear from the beginning that I wanted to work with him." 'Arjun Reddy' narrates the story of a man who sets out on the path of self-destruction after a heartbreak.
Shahid will be next seen in 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu'
Shahid had begun shooting for Shree Narayan Singh's 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu' earlier this year. Also featuring Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam, the film is slated to release on August 31. Shahid is also doing a film with Imtiaz Ali but it has been put on the back burner for now.
