Shahid dedicates his Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence award to wife Mira
Shahid Kapoor, who was presented with the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence award (Best Actor) for his portrayal of a Rajput king named Maharawal Ratan Singh in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmaavat', has dedicated the award to his beloved wife Mira Rajput Kapoor. He said that he could not have done the film without Mira's support.
Shahid's loving gesture
"This is my first award for 'Padmaavat', so I'm really happy. I'd like to dedicate this award to my wife Mira because she tolerated me for a year during this period and without her, I wouldn't have been able to do this film," said Shahid.
Other recipients of the prestigious award
Besides Shahid, his 'Padmaavat' co-stars Ranveer Singh and Aditi Rao Hydari were also honored. Anushka Sharma was bestowed with an award for being a path-breaking producer whereas Kartik Aaryan bagged the Best Entertainer trophy. Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Awards are not to be confused with Dadasaheb Phalke award given by the central government as part of National Film Awards.
