Shah Rukh Khan to resume shooting for Atlee-directorial co-starring Nayanthara
What's the story
Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan is set to resume shooting for his upcoming film with Kollywood director Atlee soon.
While the production of the venture was halted last year following the arrest of SRK's son, Aryan Khan—in the Cordelia Cruises drug bust case—latest reports suggest King Khan will resume filming next week.
Backed by Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment, this yet-to-be-titled film co-stars actor Nayanthara.
Context
Why does this story matter?
Khan was last seen in Zero (2018), which failed miserably at the box office.
Since Atlee is one of the most successful Kollywood directors, commercially and critically, expectations from the collaboration between him and Bollywood's Baadshah are pretty high.
Though SRK is expected to make a comeback with Siddharth Anand's Pathan, the Atlee directorial, which is a home production, is quite significant for Khan.
Details
Film was rolled out in September 2021
To recall, Atlee's film went on floors in September last year.
But the Raees star has not been professionally active for the last few months due to a personal life crisis involving his son Aryan's arrest.
Since it has now been over three months since Aryan got bail in the case, it looks like SRK is finally ready to focus on his upcoming films.
Information
Is SRK playing dual role in the film?
The upcoming SRK starrer will be high on action. Several reports had previously claimed its story will be based on a bank robbery.
Also, Khan is expected to play a double role of a father and his son in this flick.
While lady superstar Nayanthara will be the leading lady, actors like Sanya Malhotra and Sunil Grover will also be seen in important roles.
Updates
All you need to know about SRK's other projects
As mentioned earlier, SRK will be next seen in Pathan directed by Anand.
It was earlier reported the actor will be playing a spy in this Yash Raj Films-backed project, which co-stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham.
There have also been reports about SRK collaborating with director Rajkumar Hirani on a yet-to-be-titled film, which would feature actor Vicky Kaushal in an extended cameo.
