
IPL 2025: Shah Rukh Khan to headline opening ceremony

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan will headline the opening ceremony of the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at Eden Gardens.
On Saturday, the official account of IPL shared a post and said, "Behold! The King of Bollywood has arrived!. The one and only Pathaan—Shah Rukh Khan—is here to set the IPL 2025 Opening Ceremony stage on fire."
Khan will reportedly host the event and perform on his hit tracks.
The event will precede KKR's first match against RCB.

Khan's involvement with KKR and IPL
Khan, co-owning the KKR, was recently spotted cheering for the side and meeting players in the dressing room.
He wished the team well ahead of their first match against RCB, stating, "God bless you. Please be healthy, be happy. And thank you, Chandu sir, for looking after them. Welcome aboard to the new members."
He also thanked KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane, adding, "Thank you, Ajinkya, for joining us and being a captain."

Star-studded lineup for IPL 2025 opening ceremony
The IPL 2025 opening ceremony will also see singer Shreya Ghoshal and actor Disha Patani perform. Organizers are reportedly mulling using LED light bands to add to the visual spectacle.
The ceremony will start around 6:15pm and will likely go on for 30-45 minutes.
On the work front, Khan will soon start shooting for his next film King, directed by Siddharth Anand, sharing screen space with his daughter Suhana Khan for the first time.
