Who'll be next King of Romance? SRK has the answer
Shah Rukh Khan recently made a grand return to co-hosting the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards after more than a decade. At the event, his co-host and filmmaker Karan Johar asked him about his future in the industry, particularly the mantle of "king of romance" that he has been holding for three decades. SRK responded in his signature witty style. Here's what he said.
SRK's humorous responses to Johar's rapid-fire questions
The fun banter between Johar and Khan happened during a rapid-fire segment. When asked who would take over his title as the "King of Romance," Khan said, "Actually, romance will also retire along with me." His witty response got a huge round of applause from the audience, featuring actors like Rani Mukerji, Ananya Panday, and Anil Kapoor.
Khan's advice to new actors and playful self-deprecation
When Johar asked Khan why he doesn't live in an apartment, he jokingly replied, "Kyuki mere upar koi ho hi nahi sakta. I am the ceiling over everyone's heads." He also offered budding actors a piece of advice: "Acting." In a light-hearted moment, he humorously mentioned that he picked up cooking during a time when his films weren't doing well at the box office.
