SRK and family move to Pali Hill during Mannat renovation
What's the story
Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan and his family are all set to vacate their iconic sea-facing Bandra residence, Mannat, temporarily. The move comes as a part of a major renovation project that is set to begin in May.
The family will be moving to a luxurious duplex apartment in Pali Hill, which Khan recently rented.
Renovation plans
Mannat to undergo extensive renovation for 2 years
The renovation at Mannat is expected to take approximately two years.
Reportedly, the refurbished residence will have two more floors, an expansion that was approved by the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority in November 2024.
This approval was requested by Khan's wife and interior designer, Gauri Khan.
The extra floors will be merged with the Mannat annex, adding to the overall space of their home.
Temporary residence
Khan family's temporary abode in Pali Hill
During the renovation, the Khan family will stay at a duplex apartment in the upscale Puja Casa building in Pali Hill.
The actor has rented four floors of this luxury apartment, constructed by Bollywood producer Vashu Bhagnani. The apartments cost a staggering ₹2.9 crore in annual rent.
One apartment is directly rented from Bhagnani, while the other is jointly rented from his children, Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshika Deshmukh.
Career update
Meanwhile, Khan's professional front remains active
Despite the personal changes, Khan remains active on the work front. Following a historic year with three back-to-back hits in 2023 and a quiet 2024, he is now preparing for his next film titled King.
Sujoy Ghosh was going to direct it originally but now Siddharth Anand who directed Khan in Pathaan will be directing it.
The film also reportedly stars his daughter Suhana Khan alongside Abhishek Bachchan and Abhay Verma.
